May Days

So many things are happening in May, especially this May. Our garden has started to produce vegetables, my roses are blooming, the sun is shining, the new hotel I'm working at is opening tomorrow. My granddaughter turns 17 this Wednesday. May the 4th was with me! (I'm watching Star Wars movies this week) Cinco de Mayo was a good excuse for drinking Margaritas! The Med Beds are supposed to be released by now. (I'm still hoping for that!) And that's not even mentioning the political scene right now. Oh, but the best part is Mother's Day! I appreciate all my mother went through on my account. I didn't realize how difficult being a mother could be until I became a mother myself. My mother had six children and I have three. It still amazes me how she did it with six of us. Then, while doing family tree research, I found my Irish great-grandmother had eight children and her mother had twelve! And that was without all the modern day conveniences. On the Czech side of the family, my grandfather was one of thirteen, I believe. But on the Hispanic side, my grandfather was one of maybe sixteen. I'm still researching that side. So, to all those mothers who have gone before us and all those who come after us, Happy Mother's Day and may God Bless all of you!
